Restore My Applications folder Mac
Mac OSX is a series of Unix based system that provide high level security and execution performance. Apple added user friendly and interactive graphics interface and developed so many utilities that features Mac OS the best operating system. Apple also has provided feature to use Windows operating system parallel to Mac OS. But sometime the users faces critical problem with Mac OS and you see that My Applications folder is gone or missing.
My Applications folder in Mac is the location where all the applications are installed for the system. The folder disappear due to some mistakes or misuse by user. Some of the users drag the Mac my applications folder to the desktop for easy access to the applications that causes My Applications folder disappeared from dock and even disappeared from the desktop.
When My applications folder is gone or missing, you couldn't work with several applications. In order to recover my applications folder disappeared from dock, you can follow the following steps:
- Try to open Finder preferences
- Select the Sidebar button at the top
- Deselect 'Applications' from the Places section
- Again reselect the 'Applications'
If the above steps doesn't solve the problem then open a new Finder window and go to the top level of your Macintosh HD. You would find the Applications folder there. Now drag it to its location in the sidebar.
In case, you don't see the Applications folder in Macintosh HD, you need to reinstall the Mac operating system. If you have important data files stored in the hard drive then you can go for Mac data recovery program to recover the lost data after reinstalling Mac OSX.
