Fix error “Trash is locked Can't Delete Files”

Mac Operating system is a widely used operating system that features high defined process synchronization as well as file system. The operating system provides trash folder that appears in the right-hand end of the screen dock. It acts as a buffer wherein the deleted files off the finder are placed in it and remain in it till the trash folder data is deleted.

The deletion of trash folder required three basic methods and among them there is “Empty Trash” command that is provided while one select the trash folder and after the right click it displays this command. Further “shift+Delete” shortcut key also helps to empty the files from the trash folder. Mac Operating system also features excellent security system and therefore there is a provision of permission configuration provided with it so the folders those are given no write permission are not able to be deleted.

Since the folder gets locked if user tries to delete the file it says “Trash is locked Can't Delete Files”. Therefore people needs to go for other way-out to delete the files from the trash folder. To do so rm-rf command can be used, but the user is recommended to direct the process properly as incorrect processing may lead into data loss problem.

For this purpose one needs to open the terminal application and use the command ‘sudo-rf’ and then opening trash folder, click the edit menu and mark all and then after dragging the entire items to terminal window go to return option. Using ‘sudo rm –rf ~/Trash/’ can also work. But if these files are locked the solution mentioned above will not help anymore and hence it will be required to get unlocked.

In case if the command rm-rf is used incorrectly then user can lose huge amount of data loosing the entire important files and documents. Therefore in order to get those files back user needs Mac data recovery. The software Mac data recovery is professional recovery software that is meant for the recovery of the entire files those are lost form the Mac drive either by accidental deletion or due to fatal hard disk corruption.

Hence in can if you attempt to delete the trash file and get error “Trash is locked Can't Delete Files” then use the stated command and in case if the files turns inaccessible due to wrong process follow up then use Mac data recovery software to recover the inaccessible files.
